Openwork is currently assisting a local client in their search for a Welder in Charlotte, NC. This role is a vital member of the Manufacturing Team and contributes to a strong safety culture while producing high-quality welds, maintaining productivity, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform GTAW and FCAW welding on equipment of varying thicknesses, sizes, and orientations
Read and interpret engineered drawings and job travelers
Select the appropriate welding equipment and methods based on job requirements
Use basic hand tools such as tape measure, level, square, and other shop tools
Follow all safety and quality policies, procedures, and standards
Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment
Maintain and complete required documentation and electronic records
Ability to pass the GTAW vertical weld test
Positive attitude with strong work ethic and ability to work independently
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Friday and Saturday overtime as needed)
Knowledge of fabrication processes such as bending, punching, and welding
Ability to read a tape measure accurately
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required for fabrication
Comfortable adding and subtracting fractions and decimals
Basic tool and shop knowledge
High School Diploma or GED required
