Position Overview

Openwork is seeking a Warehouse Shipping Lead to join a dynamic team in Kennesaw. This role is a vital bridge between administrative logistics and hands-on warehouse coordination. You will be responsible for ensuring orders move accurately and efficiently from our facility to our customers.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable transitioning between digital systems, technical paperwork, and the warehouse floor.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Logistics Coordination

• Workflow Management: Print, organize, and distribute warehouse pick tickets to associates.

• Labeling & Verification: Create and apply shipping labels for Small Parcel (UPS/FedEx), LTL Freight, and Full Truckload shipments.

• Order Tracking: Coordinate shipment details to ensure on-time delivery; assist internal teams with ETA and tracking inquiries.

Warehouse & Customer Interaction

• Customer Pickup: Check in customers for warehouse pickups and assist with the safe staging and loading of orders.

• Professionalism: Maintain a helpful and professional presence for all customer-facing interactions.

Systems & Administrative Support

• Digital Integration: Utilize ERP and WMS software to process shipments and update order statuses.

• Documentation: Maintain precise records for all shipping and pickup activities.

• Collaboration: Communicate clearly with Customer Service, Operations, and Warehouse teams.

Team Support & Optimization

• Hands-on Assistance: Support light warehouse tasks including organization, inventory support, and labeling.

• Process Improvement: Contribute ideas to enhance workflow accuracy and overall efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience: Proven background in shipping, logistics, or warehouse distribution.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, WMS software, and Microsoft/Google Suite applications.

• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with a "customer-first" demeanor.

• Mentality: Self-starter capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred (But Not Required)

• Experience with LTL freight and truckload coordination.

• Ability to operate warehouse equipment (Forklift, Reach Truck, Pallet Jack) or a willingness to be trained.

• Previous experience in lean or startup-style operations.
