Now Hiring: CNC Machinist

Location: Houston, TX 77028
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour (based on experience)

Position Overview
Openwork is partnering with a well-established manufacturing client to hire an experienced CNC Machinist for a full-time opportunity in a climate-controlled shop.

This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who takes pride in precision, values safety, and is looking for a stable position with long-term growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC machines including mills, lathes, and saws
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate production
  • Develop machining sequences and select appropriate tooling
  • Program using G-code at the machine or workstation
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust speeds, feeds, and settings as needed
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
  • Maintain accurate production records and inventory of completed parts
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and quality specifications
  • Train and support machinist helpers as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 + years of CNC machining experience required
  • Strong experience with CNC mills required
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of metals, alloys, and machining processes
  • Basic inventory and documentation skills
  • Ability to follow ISO standards and safety procedures
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)

Safety and Work Environment

  • Climate-controlled facility
  • Work involves handling lead materials; adherence to safety protocols is required
  • Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper respirator fit
  • Required to wear a respirator during work hours
  • End-of-shift showering and periodic blood testing required for safety compliance
